The opportunity
The IT Support & Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of IT support and operational services. It is expected that the IT Support & Operations Manager will work as a partner with executives and senior managers across GMCT to provide high quality and tailored IT advice and service. This role requires excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, problem solving ability with a high degree of familiarity with current and emerging technologies, practices and strategies.
Description:
* Full time, Permanent role
* One PTO (Personal Time Off) per month
* Location: Fawkner
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Lead, mentor, and manage the IT Support & Operations team, focusing on performance management, staff development, and capability planning.
* Foster a collaborative, customer-focused environment, promoting skill development and accountability.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to support team growth.
* Oversee the delivery of all IT services including infrastructure, audiovisual, telecommunications, security, data backup, and disaster recovery.
* Develop and implement processes aligned with ITIL best practices.
* Manage incident and problem resolution efficiently.
* Act as the main contact for IT support, ensuring effective communication with users and stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with IT policies and processes.
* Provide strategic leadership in IT service development, integrating with governance and architecture.
Qualifications and experience required:
* Proven leadership and team development skills.
* Experience managing IT support operations with ITIL-aligned processes.
* Strong technical background in system administration and enterprise IT environments.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Resource planning and risk management experience.
