School Improvement Project Support Officer Department of EducationApplications close Thursday 3 July 2025 at 11.59 PM Overview Work type: Full time Salary: $79,122 - $96,073 Grade: VPSG3 Occupation: Administration/Secretarial Location: Geelong Reference: VG/DE/SRS/The primary responsibility of the School Improvement Project Support Officer is to provide high quality executive and administrative support to assist in the delivery of the Department of Education and Training's priorities, aims, and objectives.
The role will support the Executive Director and their team.About the DepartmentThe role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives.
It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.About the DivisionThe School & Regional Services, South Western Victoria Region is responsible for implementing government learning and development strategies through networks of government schools and early childhood providers.
Multi-disciplinary teams across areas and divisions work collaboratively across the region to:Deliver high quality education and early childhood services that are responsive to local needs.Improve early childhood service and school outcomes and performance across the region.Provide coordination and oversight of the delivery of services that support the health, wellbeing and engagement of children and young people to enable them to learn and develop to their full potential.This role will be located in the South Western Victoria Region - Barwon.About the RoleThe primary responsibility of the School Improvement Project Support Officer is to provide high quality executive and administrative support to assist in the delivery of the Department of Education and Training's priorities, aims, and objectives.
The role will support the Executive Director and their team.Key responsibilities will include:Executive and administrative support, correspondence and record keepingDiary management, distributing information and materials to stakeholdersArranging office meetings such as booking and preparing venues, agendas, minutes and cateringMaintaining relevant databases and registers for trackingIt is recognised that the role is critical to the effective operations of the department.
The role involves periods of sustained independent work, as well as frequent and varied contact with department employees and members of the community.
The role demands flexibility and the ability to work in a highly collaborative and supportive way with all other staff.
