Introduction St Francis Xavier's College Hamilton is seeking a Temporary Part-Time (0.6FTE) Learning Support Teacher to join the team for Terms 2-3, 2025.

Description Position Description Responsibilities The Learning Support Teacher (7-12) in a Catholic school plays a vital role in ensuring each child has the opportunity to grow academically and spiritually and to live a purposeful life. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist with identifying students with special educational needs, collaborating with parents, colleagues, CSO personnel, external providers, and facilitating referral and assessment procedures with Catholic Schools Office Student Support staff. Deliver intervention, teach students, and assist teachers with curriculum differentiation as specified by the Leader of Learning Support / Learning Support Coordinator. Collaborate with class teachers and relevant personnel to design, implement, monitor, and review adjustments documented in the Personalised Plan (PP) or Learner Profile (LP). Work collaboratively with other Learning Support staff. Contribute to staff professional development and parent education programs. Liaise with relevant schools during transition periods. Prepare documentation required under legislation, ensuring privacy, confidentiality, and disability obligations, including pre-enrolment documentation and submissions for the NCCD. Support the development of inclusive learning environments. Assist in implementing programs and processes to support students with disabilities. Build the capacity of school staff in Special Education. Skills and Experiences Experience/Criteria Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and commitment to Catholic education and the Church's mission through Catholic schools. Experience working with students with disabilities (7-12). Proven ability to collaborate with school staff, CSO staff, and external stakeholders to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes. Experience delivering professional learning for staff and parents. Ability to effectively gather and utilise assessment and student data to determine adjustments for individual students and groups. Experience in preparing Personalised Plans and Learner Profiles for students with disabilities. Support experience in student enrollment and transitions. Knowledge of Disability legislation and the NCCD. Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills. Qualifications Four-year trained teacher qualification and postgraduate qualifications in Special Education or extensive experience in the field. Active NESA Accreditation. Current NSW Working with Children Check. Completion of anaphylaxis and CPR training. Conditions of Employment Salary aligned with the NSW & ACT Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
