Overview
John Hunter Hospital is seeking a dedicated, experienced Clinician to work as a Co-Ordinator and lead operational flow and patient access within our busy outpatient’s service. Current portfolio is focused on Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialty – the largest outpatient waitlist at JHH, currently supporting over 10,000 patients across the HNE community. This position is central to ensuring timely, safe, and equitable access for thousands of patients – particularly those from HNELHD’s most vulnerable communities.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with key ENT clinicians to drive improved access for patients to outpatient services and support innovative alternative models of care.
- Manage referrals, waitlists, and clinic coordination across multiple subspecialties and care pathways (including working with local GPs and PHNs).
- Support vulnerable populations, including Aboriginal children through the Audiology Pathway and Sleep Disorder Breathing program.
- Liaise with the NUM to allocate responsibilities across specialised nursing staff.
- Collaborate with outpatient administration staff to optimise patient care and clinic planning.
- Act as a key contact for patients, clinicians and GPs regarding the John Hunter Hospital ENT outpatient service.
