Located in Tom Price, Western Australia, the Tom Price Hotel Motel has a restaurant, a bar, and barbecue facilities. We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic to our hotel.
Major Responsibilities and Tasks
* Carry out all airconditioning and refrigeration trade-related installation.
* Installing, maintaining, and repairing all heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
* Interpret drawings and specifications to determine installation requirements and layout reference points for equipment installation.
* Drill holes, install mounting brackets, and cut, bend, and thread piping for the installation of refrigeration systems.
* Install and repair various components, including compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches, gauges, and copper lines for steam, gas, refrigerant, compressed air, oil, and chilled water.
* Utilize techniques such as bolting, soldering, riveting, welding, and brazing to connect pipes and ensure the proper alignment and accuracy of fit.
* Fill systems with gas or fluid to identify and rectify leaks.
* Conduct test operations of refrigeration systems, perform mechanism checks, and make necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
* Troubleshoot air-conditioning equipment malfunctions.
* Safely remove test gas and fluid using vacuum pumps and refill systems with refrigerant.
* Maintenance and repairs with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Inspect and overhaul refrigeration systems, diagnose faults, and repair or replace defective components.
* Adjust system controls and mechanisms as required and reassemble systems after maintenance or repair.
* Maintain accurate records of malfunction causes and actions taken for future reference and reporting purposes.
* Diagnose problems and perform maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
* Replace air-conditioning systems that aren't in fixable condition.
* Ensure efficient productive and safe work practices are applied.
Qualifications
* AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
* A minimum of 5 years' experience as an Air-conditioning and or Refrigeration Service Technician.
* Proven experience as a Refrigeration Technician or similar role.
* Good technical and maintenance skills.
* In-depth knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and installation techniques.
* Communicate effectively with management and other staff.
* Proficiency in interpreting drawings and specifications.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and skills in using tools and equipment associated with refrigeration work.
* Familiarity with various welding and brazing techniques.
* Ability to diagnose malfunctions, perform repairs, and conduct system tests effectively.
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Physical stamina and the ability to work in varying environments and conditions.
