The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Monitoring Specialist to join a large enterprise environment. This role is focused on the design, implementation, and optimization of deep monitoring solutions using the existing SolarWinds platform.
The successful candidate will leverage their strong systems administration skills to translate operational requirements into robust, actionable monitoring capabilities across complex infrastructure components.
Key Responsibilities
* SolarWinds Optimization: Configure and optimize SolarWinds modules (NPM, SAM, VMAN, SRM) for comprehensive monitoring of enterprise infrastructure.
* Virtualization Focus: Implement advanced monitoring specifically for VMware clusters, ESXi, and vCenter environments.
* System Integration: Configure monitoring for physical and virtual Windows/Linux servers and enterprise storage platforms (SAN/NAS).
* Alerting & Reporting: Develop, maintain, and tune proactive alerts, executive dashboards, and scheduled reports for issue detection, capacity, and availability objectives.
* Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams (Infra, Apps, Network) to define requirements, troubleshoot monitoring issues, and provide knowledge transfer.
Required Skills & Experience
* Mandatory SolarWinds Expertise: Strong, hands‑on experience with SolarWinds deployment, including NPM, SAM, VMAN, and Storage Resource Monitor (SRM).
* Virtualization: Strong VMware administration experience (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).
* Systems Foundation: Solid understanding of Windows Server and Linux environments, and familiarity with enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS).
* Reporting: Proven ability to create custom alerts, dashboards, and reports within the SolarWinds platform.
* Automation (Preferred): Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Python) for operational automation.
