About the position: Closed-term full-time (76 hours/fortnight) until 30 June 2026 Based in Bankstown Working Monday to Friday Attractive remuneration package from $88,300 - $100,400 p.a. 12% super Tax-Free Salary Packaging! About the Opportunity The Holistic Youth Program (HYP) is a service stream of headspace and provides youth friendly, strengths-focused support to young people with, or at risk of developing, a serious mental illness that can significantly impacting their day-to-day work, education, social and/or personal life. The headspace Mental Health Clinician in the HYP program works collaboratively with a young person and their family/carers to identify their support needs, goals and develop collaborative care plans. The incumbent will provide high quality psycho-social assessment and evidence-based, focused psychological interventions and work with the HYP peer worker to provide holistic, integrated services that support young people to achieve their recovery goals. On a day to day basis, you will be required to: Provide evidence-based, focused psychological strategies (e.g., CBT, psycho-education, relaxation strategies, skills training, interpersonal therapy) to individuals or via group therapy to young clients aged 12 to 25 years. Deliver clinical support, advice and coordinate referral to specialist services for young people presenting with Alcohol and/or other drugs issues. Work collaboratively with the young person and their supports e.g., school, community agencies to help achieve their goals. Work within a family inclusive approach including delivery of family interventions where appropriate Maintain accurate case notes for clients using an electronic clinical record and according to headspace Bankstown protocols and professional standards. Participate in case review meetings, contribute to care plans and participate in planned case conferences with GPs and other health professionals involved in the client’s care as required. Provide written reports to the client’s referring GP with information regarding assessments undertaken, treatment provided, and recommendations on future management of the client's disorder, according to headspace Bankstown. Work in alignment with the headspace service delivery and clinical governance frameworks Participate in group supervision sessions and individual supervision sessions as agreed, including participation in the HYP community of practice meetings with consortium partners. Working with the broader headspace Bankstown team to meet the overall aims and objectives of the service. About headspace One in four young people have experienced a mental health issue in the past 12 months – a higher prevalence than all other age groups. headspace provides early intervention mental health services to young people who present with mental health issues, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing. This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services. Selection Criteria Essential: Possession of tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or other allied health discipline recognised by the tertiary mental health services sector. Membership of an appropriate professional body. Have a minimum of 2 years post graduate clinical experience in the provision of mental health care including assessments and interventions, and have (or be eligible to receive) National or State registration. Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of recovery focused and family inclusive practice. Have a clear understanding and/or knowledge of the concept and impact of mental health issues in the community.
