 
        
        Environmental Specialist
As a valued member of our team, you will contribute to the growth and development of Western Australia's resources sector. This sector plays a pivotal role in overseeing resource development and ensuring improved environmental outcomes for mining, petroleum, and exploration activities that benefit both WA and future generations.
 * Undertake comprehensive assessments of detailed and complex mining/petroleum proposals, as well as native vegetation clearing applications, where necessary.
 * Provide specialist and technical advice on intricate environmental matters and strategic resource projects to the department's Executive, other government agencies, minerals and energy sector stakeholders, the general public, and industry organisations relating to environmental legislation concerning the resources industry.
 * Carry out the duties of an inspector and conduct inspections/compliance assessments and investigations of resources projects to monitor compliance with legislative requirements of the industry.
 * Prepare reports, documents, correspondence, and decisions in relation to the assessment of detailed and complex applications.
 * Offer support and guidance to less experienced staff members through mentoring and coaching.
Essential Qualifications & Licenses
 * Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management, or an approved equivalent scientific degree relevant to the role described in this job description form.
