Job Title: Medicare Registered Play Therapist



We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Multidisciplinary Play Therapist to join our team. As a key member, you will provide individual and family-based play therapy and counselling services to support the emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs of children and young people.



Main Responsibilities:

* Deliver individual and family-based play therapy and counselling services to meet the unique needs of each client.
* Build strong relationships with parents and carers, developing empathic and connected relationships that promote positive outcomes for clients.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop individualised treatment plans and goals that align with client needs and preferences.
* Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
* Potential opportunities to facilitate group therapy sessions and workshops that promote skill-building and community engagement.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes and client records in accordance with professional standards.
* Participate in regular supervision and professional development to ensure best practice and ongoing learning.



Required Qualifications:

* Registration as a Mental Health Social Worker, Psychologist, or other qualification that allows for Medicare Rebates.
* Membership with the relevant professional association.
* Demonstrated experience in providing therapeutic interventions to children, young people, and families.
* Strong knowledge of child development, neurodiversity, play therapy, and family systems.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients of all ages.
* Capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Ability to organise a caseload, attract referrals, and fill your calendar.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
* A current Working with Children Check (Vic) and National Police Check.
* Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience working therapeutically with children and families is essential.
