Job description About the Position
We are excited to welcome a Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to our People and Culture team at Act for Kids.
* Full-time, fixed term until 30 July 2027 to cover a period of parental leave
* Great flexibility working hybrid from our Milton office and from home
* Reports to Director of People, Culture & Safety with mentoring, coaching and development provided
* Ability to travel to Act for Kids and Youthrive offices as required

This hands-on role strengthens workplace health and safety across Act for Kids and Youthrive by partnering with leaders, teams and external stakeholders to deliver practical and trusted advice across injury management and return to work, workers’ compensation, hazard and risk management, and WHS compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert WHS advice by delivering practical, timely health and safety guidance across injury management, workers’ compensation, WHS systems and compliance, and hazard and risk management in operational and environmental settings.
* Build organisational capability by partnering with leaders to strengthen understanding of legislative health, safety and wellbeing responsibilities and drive consistent, compliant safety practices.
* Lead workers’ compensation and recovery outcomes by coordinating multi‑state claims management, rehabilitation and return‑to‑work programs that support employee recovery and minimise time away from work.
* Drive continuous safety improvement by overseeing WHS compliance across the organisation, leading the WHS Committee, and implementing initiatives that reduce risk and enhance health, safety and wellbeing performance.
About You
* Tertiary qualification in health and safety, risk management, human resources or related field.
* Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator qualification essential.
* Specialist WHS qualification and/or certification or willing to undertake (eg. WHSO, Fire Safety Advisor).
* At least three (3) years' experience working in a similar role with sound knowledge and understanding of health, safety, wellbeing, and rehabilitation and return to work practices, principles, and frameworks.
* Current driver’s licence.
