About the role:
We are seeking Support Workers to join our friendly and supportive team in Kununurra. Our Support Workers are responsible for providing domestic assistance, social support, and respite to maximize customer independence in their own homes within the community and also in our Community Day Centre. Care and services are responsive, timely, and empowering, enabling our customers to lead a continued safe and independent life within their own home.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience with personal care tasks and administration of medication. There are permanent part-time positions available working up to 60 hours per fortnight. Hours of work are between 7 am - 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct support and assistance to customers with cleaning and meal preparation
* Personal care tasks and administration of medication
* Assist and encourage customers with communication and socialisation
* Completion of required documentation
* Maintain compliance with policies and procedures
* Compliance with Occupational, Safety and Health requirements
Requirements:
* Current Australian driver's licence
* Certificate III Aged Care or Dementia Care Course
* Current First Aid certification
* Previous experience working in the Community
* Understand documentation and relevant legislation
* Understand principles of Occupational, Safety & Health and correct manual handling
Salary and Benefits:
You will receive an attractive rate of pay $32.88-$35.71 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications), plus 11.5% superannuation. You will also receive a district allowance of $5 per hour and accommodation allowance of $5 per hour. Travel allowance of up to $2,000 annually after the first year of service is also included.
