Stand-alone Payroll Officer

* $120k full time equivalent
Our client is seeking a driven and detail oriented part time (30hrs) Payroll Officer who will be responsible for the full payroll function across Australia and New Zealand. This role will be responsible for accurately processing wages, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and ensuring smooth and efficient operations across the business.
What you'll be doing:
* End to end fortnightly and monthly payroll processing (across Australia and New Zealand)
* Data entry timesheets, commission and overtime
* Processing new starters, workers compensation, terminations and payroll adjustments
* Updating and maintaining payroll systems and records
* General payroll administration and supporting HR with ad hoc
* Interpreting awards and contracts
* Processing end of month
* Reconciliation of payroll and group tax, general ledger and superannuation accounts and end of financial year tasks
* Conducting system audits to ensure compliance and legislative requirements met
What you'll bring:
* Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting
* National Police Check
* 3-5 years payroll experience
* Strong communication skills
* Strong customer service skills
* Experience with Micropay Meridian and HRIS systems
* Strong understanding of tax laws, compliance and award interpretations
* End to end payroll experience including HR functions such as onboarding, terminations and employee benefits
