The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Account Manager to support the Director, Partnerships and Engagement in strengthening industry, research and government relationships, coordinating partner activities, and enabling the effective delivery of high-impact research projects.
This role provides critical operational and coordination support across partner engagement, reporting, communications, and project facilitation. It ensures the Director can focus on strategic leadership, stakeholder influence, and the development of major industry initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Partner Relationship Management
* Act as a primary contact point for existing partners, managing day-to-day communication and ensuring timely responses to partner needs.
* Support relationship development across industry, government, and research organisations, particularly in Tasmania and other priority regions.
* Coordinate partner onboarding, documentation, and CRM records.
* Assist in preparing partnership materials, briefings, contracts and communication packs.
Engagement & Activity Coordination
* Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of partner engagement activities, including meetings, quarterly reviews, workshops, site visits, and events.
* Prepare agendas, minutes, action logs and follow-up communications.
* Coordinate logistics for strategic meetings with potential new partners and stakeholders.
Project Support
* Assist in gathering information and preparing documentation for new project concepts initiated by the Director.
* Track progress of industry-led research projects in collaboration with internal teams.
* Support the coordination of initiatives related to biorefinery development and other major CRC strategic priorities.
* Assist in drafting project plans for research projects in collaboration with research and industry partners.
Reporting & Communications
* Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, presentations, and updates for the CEO, Board, committees, partner groups, and external stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate data on engagement activities, partner interactions, and project pipelines.
Business Development Support
* Assist with industry and partner research, market scanning, and opportunity identification.
* Support the Director in organising partner recruitment campaigns and tracking progress.
* Prepare supporting documentation, capability summaries, and pitch materials.
Skills and Experience
Essential
* Experience in stakeholder or account management roles within research, industry, government sectors.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships across diverse and senior stakeholders.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing research applications, reports and stakeholder communications.
* Strong organisational and coordination skills, with experience managing complex schedules, meetings and documentation.
* Ability to work proactively, manage competing priorities, and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
* High attention to detail, strong judgement and the ability to represent the organisation professionally.
* Knowledge of the marine, biotechnology, aquaculture, or nutraceutical sectors.
* Australian work rights are required for this position.
Desirable
* Experience supporting senior executives or strategic programs.
* Experience in partner-driven research environments or collaborative consortia.
* CRM or project management system experience.
