Job Overview
Job purpose
As an Apprentice Painter Blaster you will be expected to develop your skills and knowledge in the department to ensure you build technical competency in the role to fulfil the workscopes required by our clients and your team leader. This will consist in following all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality rules and procedures. Becoming familiar with and safely operating the various tools and equipment necessary to carry out the preparation, blasting, primer, colour, and top coating of a wide variety of engineering components and products. Role will involve selection of shot, primer and paint to meet specification, ability to mask off correctly, and handle equipment with care.
You will be trained in a variety of processes including banksman slinging and overhead gantry crane operation, use of the tools, preparation equipment, hand and cabinet blaster, spray equipment, measuring equipment and curing ovens.
Minimum of National 4 Maths and practical subjects
Good hand skills, ability to follow instructions, ability to take care and have good attention to detail. Communication skills, taking responsibility for tasks allocated and ability to working well in a team.
