About the role:
We are currently looking for a part-time Farm Hand to join our centre in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. The role involves working as a farm hand for 3 days a week, 5 hours per day, primarily focused on animal care within the center. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a person with an absolute love for animals to come onboard and run our farming program within the centre. You will incorporate your love for farm animals into experiences that enhance children's learning. In addition, your duties will include cleaning up after the animals and making sure the environment is always at a high standard for the animals and children.
Key responsibilities include:
* Looking after various animals, including feeding, caring, and nurturing them.
* Cleaning and maintaining yards, tanks, and other animal environments.
* Supporting animal-related activities and ensuring a clean, safe, and engaging space.
* A childcare qualification is a bonus, as it enables additional support in creating interactive and educational experiences for children involving the animals. This would allow the farm hand to facilitate child-animal interactions safely and meaningfully, enhancing learning and engagement.
* A current working with children check
* First aid and CPR
* Respond to Abuse and Neglect / RRHAN training
* Demonstrates best practices.
