About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to join our Queensland team and support the Build Better Together (BBT) Program across the City of Moreton and Sunshine Coast regions. This is a hands‐on, site‐based role working across multiple Unitywater infrastructure projects.
The Senior Environmental Advisor within BBT is responsible for the environmental, sustainability and relevant stakeholder management of the Program. The role is focused on the impacts that the works may have on the environment and involves working closely with members of the Program to foster a strong environmental/sustainability culture.
* Ensure that all references to Unitywater's Environmental and Sustainability policies and procedures are correct.
* Ensure compliance with all Unitywater's Environmental and Sustainability legislative requirements on projects.
* Lead, actively contribute and develop risk identification and risk mitigation strategies noted within the BBT plan.
* Lead, actively contribute and develop management plans.
* Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the Construction Environmental Management Plan, including actively auditing, inspecting and closing out corrective actions with the support of the Project Manager.
This is a hands‐on role supporting multiple work fronts, ensuring strong environmental compliance, proactive risk management and clear, consistent communication with project teams.
What You'll Bring to the Team
* Experience as a Senior Environmental Advisor within construction, ideally across water or utility‐based infrastructure.
* Qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline, with strong knowledge of environmental legislation, approvals and regulatory frameworks.
* Proven expertise in applying and managing environmental standards across complex, high‐profile projects.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Environmental Management Plans, risk assessments and sustainability initiatives.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build collaborative relationships with internal teams, clients, regulators and community stakeholders.
* Ability to integrate environmental and sustainability objectives into project planning and delivery, fostering a culture of environmental excellence across site teams.
* A hands‐on, practical approach to environmental management in dynamic site environments.
