Volunteer Role: HABIT-ILE (Hand‐Arm Bimanual Intensive Training Including Lower Extremity)
HABIT-ILE is a two‐week goal‐directed training program designed specifically for children and teens with cerebral palsy and similar conditions. The program focuses on everyday functional skills such as eating, dressing and moving, with emphasis on bimanual therapy.
Schedule and Training
* Dates: 7th September 2026 – 18th September 2026
* Times: 8:30am – 1:00pm (daily)
* Training: Online training module to be completed by 31st August 2026
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Contribute to an engaging, goal‐oriented and strength‐based group dynamic
* Support children 1:1 to engage with goal‐directed therapy
* Assist with set up and pack down for activities
* Do not provide direct care duties unless trained (e.g., mealtime assistance, personal care, lifting and positioning, medication administration, or transport) unless supervised
* Be supervised by an Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist
Role Requirements
* Minimum age 16 years
* Completed NDIS Worker Screening
* Working with Children Check (NSW)
* Communicate proficiently in English
* Possess a valid licence for re‐entry to community activities (if applicable)
* Ability to demonstrate flexibility and problem‐solving skills within a therapeutic setting
