Role Overview
The Accounts Services Officer is part of Goodstart's Finance team and leads debt management activities focusing primarily on inactive family accounts. Using systems such as the Childcare Management System and SAP, the role manages payment transactions, generates invoices, and ensures financial accuracy on family statements.
Responsibilities
* Drive cash collection of inactive family debt, negotiating payment of outstanding debts and arranging suitable payment plans.
* Achieve targeted cash collection while maintaining high‐quality customer service and protecting the Goodstart brand.
* Investigate and report queries from centre staff and managers in a timely manner, including communication.
* Assist and support centres with active debtors, including overdue accounts, letter reminders, payment plans, bad debt procedures, and related duties.
* Develop and implement record‐keeping systems, forms, policies, and procedures related to debt collection, invoicing, processing transactions, reconciliations, and other account services or accounts receivable activities.
* Develop and pursue payment strategies, identify and resolve problems and inconsistencies, and suggest appropriate corrective procedures.
* Liaise with internal clients such as managers, childcare centre directors, employees, and internal staff regarding payments and general enquiries.
* Support other account services functions as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Debt recovery or collections experience.
* Experience in an accounts receivable or billing environment.
* Strong negotiation and problem‐solving skills.
* Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
* Basic or intermediate Excel skills.
Desirable
* Previous early learning industry knowledge or experience.
* Previous experience or knowledge of SAP.
