headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Wollongong work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people.
Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Wollongong. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT.
About the position
The Mental Health Clinician will work collaboratively with a young person and their family/carers to identify support needs, goals and develop collaborative care plans. The position provides high quality psycho-social assessment and evidence-based, focused interventions under supervision. The Mental Health Clinician works closely with other members of the team and external service providers to maximise care outcomes for young people referred to headspace Wollongong.
The position is a part time opportunity; hours and days are negotiable and is fixed term until 30 June 2026 with possibility for extension.
We are looking for someone with:
* Passion and experience working with young people
* Registration with APHRA as a Psychologist or be working towards mental health accreditation as an Occupational Therapist or Social Worker
* Understanding of assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders and provision of evidence-based focused psychological strategies
* Relevant experience in the delivery of group and individual interventions.
