Job Title: Maintenance Officer

Classification: Maintenance/ Property

Employment Conditions: Full Time Contract

Salary: $72, $75,806.90 per annum.

Generous salary packaging: $15,899.94p/a

Reports to: Assets and Property Manager

About Us

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to 'Closing the Gap' in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.

Anyinginyi consists of four different sections (Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Unit and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.

Anyinginyi's mission is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services featuring prevention and treatment in the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way.

What We Offer

Salary packaging up to $15,899.94 pa.
6 weeks annual leave and personal/carer's leave up to 10 days per year
Up to $1500 study allowance after 1 year of service
Study leave can be negotiated
Remote retention allowance of $1500 after 1 year of service and $3000 after 2

years' service

Annual remote travel allowance of $1500 for personal travel after 1 year of service
Annual local Bi- Lingual allowance of up to $1500
Employee access to Anyinginyi Health Clinic – with free Prescriptions
Free General Dentistry (Lab Work to be paid by employee)

About The Role

The Maintenance Officer is responsible for maintaining the grounds of all Anyinginyi Health properties both business and residential, maintenance of all building needs and provide assistance in contracts, stores receivership, hazardous waste disposal, contractor requirements for new building upgrades where directed.

The Maintenance Officer is an integral part of the high standard of presentation and maintenance of Anyinginyi buildings and services to internal and external parties for property and asset delivery and management.

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

Respect for traditional Aboriginal Culture and cultural diversity and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal/culturally diverse people.
Gardening experience including experience with garden irrigation systems and small engines.
Knowledge of plants and their needs, including different soil requirements, position requirements, pruning, etc.
Ability to identify recurring gardening and maintenance requirements.
Ability to complete necessary documentation for task reporting and actioning.
Ability to be able to communicate and respond to personnel in a diverse working environment.
Reliability, ability to work with a high level of quality, unsupervised and as part of a team.
Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety in the workplace.
Current NT Driver's Licence.
Be in possession of or have the ability to obtain an OCHRE Card.
preferred to be Fully COVID-19 Vaccinated.

Desirable

4WD Licence.

About You

To be considered for this position, you must maintain Respect for Traditional Culture and cultural diversity and acquire the ability to communicate effectively within a diverse working environment. Previous experience or qualifications within Gardening, laboring or maintenance will be highly regarded but is not mandatory.

The Maintenance Officer requires a current NT Driver's License, free from any restrictions to be successful in their application.

Please Note

A National Police Clearance and Ochre Card (NT Working with Children's) card obtainment is a requirement prior to commencement in this role. Please refer to NT Safe for further information.
