Key Business Development Opportunities
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to drive business growth, manage sales pipelines, and negotiate proposals.
This key role involves identifying and pursuing strategic business opportunities aligned with corporate goals, planning and delivering targeted sales activities, and acting as the primary contact for contract logistics sales enquiries.
Core Accountabilities
* Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies, lead high-level negotiations, pricing, and contract finalisation to drive profitable deal closures.
* Maintain accurate records, manage customer interactions, and oversee onboarding to ensure excellent customer solutions and satisfaction.
* Generate, nurture, and manage a robust sales pipeline with short, medium, and long-term opportunities aligned to business strategy.
* Track and analyse KPIs, forecasts, and budgets to optimise revenue streams and support strategic sales planning.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver optimal outcomes, inspire teams through effective leadership, and support positive conflict resolution.
* Take full responsibility for actions, communicate openly, make sound consensus-based decisions, and prioritise customer needs with agility and responsiveness.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* 5+ year's experience in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development, with proven success in business development and senior-level customer management.
* Degree qualified, with additional business management training considered an advantage.
* Strong knowledge of Supply Chain and Logistics Operating Models, including pricing and rate cards, with 5+ years focused on Contract Logistics sales development.
* Demonstrated ability in customer lead generation, high-retention relationship building, and expanding into new verticals such as freight forwarding.
* Highly organised, capable of managing priorities effectively, performing well under pressure, and skilled in consultative sales and strategic relationship management.
* Committed to quality control policies, accurate record-keeping, and identifying/reporting non-conformance in line with company procedures.
