Salary package: $138,182 to 144,783 per annum plus 17% superannuation

Terms: Full-time, Continuing

The Team

The Clinical Intake team contributes to the University's commitment to centrally coordinate and monitor support to create a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for all students. The Clinical Intake Manager will be adept at working as part of a multidisciplinary team with knowledge and experience of mental health service provision and will maintain professional working relationships with ANU Counselling, ANU Student Safety and Wellbeing, and other key ANU services, and with agencies within the community to establish an integrated care pathway for students.

The Person

You will lead and oversee the clinical intake and triage function for students seeking mental health and wellbeing support, ensuring high‑quality, timely, and student‑centred service delivery. This includes supervising intake processes, guiding clinical decision‑making, and supporting staff in providing accurate information, advice, and coordinated referrals. You will manage complex presentations, oversee crisis‑response protocols, and ensure that risk is identified and escalated appropriately. In this leadership role, you will contribute to service improvement, maintain best‑practice standards, and foster strong collaboration across clinical and wellbeing teams.

You will have a degree in social work, psychology, mental health nursing, or occupational therapy. Social workers are required to be eligible for membership of AASW. Psychologists, mental health nurses and occupational therapists are required to have a full registration with AHPRA.

As part of our diverse Health and Wellbeing teams, you will help make a positive impact on the lives of students. In this position, you will work closely with practitioners in the broader Health and Wellbeing services to ensure high quality care and service delivery. Your role is pivotal in delivering services and nurturing an inclusive and safe environment where participants can thrive.
