The Tower Technology Replacement Program is delivering a next-generation Air Traffic Management (ATM) system to replace existing tower systems. The new platform will process and display real-time air traffic information for Air Traffic Controllers across major Australian towers.
In this role, you will act as the primary technical point of contact for all engineering matters relating to the program. You will provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the full lifecycle of the ATM system, including design, development, testing, installation, set-to-work, verification, and acceptance of system deliverables. You will lead engineering review gates, support site installations, and manage technology change processes including configuration management, change control, and risk identification.
You will also develop, review, and approve key engineering artefacts such as System Engineering Management Plans (SEMP), Test and Evaluation Management Plans (TEMP), System Requirements Specifications (SRS), Interface Design and Control Documents, and Cutover and Transition Plans.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the technical point of contact for the program
* Provide guidance on design, development, testing, installation, and verification of the ATM system
* Manage technology change processes, configuration management, and risk identification
* Lead engineering review gates, acceptance testing, and site installations
* Develop, review, and approve engineering artefacts and documentation
* Act as a trusted advisor on safety, security, and system performance
* Maintain awareness of industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices
Essential Requirements
* Degree in Engineering or Information Technology (or equivalent)
* Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (e.g., RPEQ)
* Australian citizenship and eligible for Australian Government security clearance
* Extensive experience in systems engineering, software design, testing, and implementation
* Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills
* Strong documentation skills (solution architecture, system design, and engineering artefacts)
