Cyber Security Lead (SOC) – BAE Systems Canberra
BAE Systems Digital Intelligence is a team of 4,500 digital, cyber and intelligence experts working across 10 countries to deliver digital expertise to governments, armed forces and commercial businesses.
This role is focused in the SOC space to assist customers in protecting themselves from security risks and implementing new security capabilities across a variety of ICT systems. It is situated within our Government business, based in Canberra, with substantial time on client sites and requires a minimum NV2 government security clearance (potential PV).
Role Summary
Act as a Cyber Security Lead consultant advising clients on security operations, improvement plans and developing security capability roadmaps and strategies. Responsibilities include conducting maturity assessments, advising on capability roadmaps, and helping clients mature cyber security operations.
What You'll Be Doing
* Implement solutions across people, process, data, governance and technology with top-tier Government clients.
* Engage with customers to understand requirements, design cyber security solutions throughout the design‐delivery lifecycle, and lead a team to develop policies, processes and procedures.
* Document delivery processes, capture lessons learnt, and contribute to best practices and repeatable processes.
* Support sales, project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction; may travel internationally and nationally.
* Build an in-depth technical understanding of our Cyber Security product suite; be the SME and primary point‐of‐contact for technical and consultancy matters.
* Lead programme delivery by managing teams of consultants and solution architects to ensure solutions are fit‐for‐purpose.
* Collaborate with design teams to ensure solutions meet functional and non‐functional requirements.
* Own and manage solution risks and develop cost and delivery estimates.
* Work with Delivery Assurance functions to track quality and progress.
Essential Qualifications
* Experience building and delivering Cyber Security solutions, integrating systems and developing associated processes and procedures; knowledge of the cyber security threat landscape.
* Detailed knowledge of Cyber Security product landscape; core knowledge of Azure and AWS security.
* Previous experience with Security Operating Centre (SOC) in an operations leadership role or as a senior SOC analyst; or experience leading SOC‐specific systems and applications.
* Experience deriving and updating security use cases for SIEM and analytics platforms; knowledge of Splunk and Sentinel advantageous.
* Experience advising end users and clients with guidance and thought leadership.
* Excellent verbal and written communication and client‐facing skills; proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
* Strong time‐management and organisational skills to manage multiple delivery projects concurrently.
* Detail‐oriented approach.
* Understanding of IT service management and experience with ServiceNow/Jira case‐management solutions.
* Thought leadership at senior levels in designing advanced cyber defence detection strategies.
