Employment Details
Full time, Permanent. Salary: $120,457 (Level 6) – Public Sector CSA Agreement 2024. Working hours may involve irregular schedules, weekends, evenings, and an on‐call roster. Must reside within 50 km of the Manjimup DFES Regional Office.
Role Overview
The BRMO is an integral member of the DFES Lower South West Team, which encompasses seven local government areas. The BRMO works closely with the Lower South West DFES Team, local governments, Bushfire Risk Planning Coordinators, and designated Emergency Management personnel to facilitate and manage tenure‐blind bushfire risk management activities. A key responsibility of the BRMO is to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders to ensure the risk of bushfire to Western Australian communities is mitigated and managed. The role actively promotes bushfire risk management practices and objectives and provides valuable support to the ongoing improvement of bushfire risk management services.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate and manage tenure‐blind bushfire risk management activities.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
* Ensure bushfire risk to communities is mitigated and managed.
* Promote bushfire risk management practices and objectives.
* Provide support to the ongoing improvement of bushfire risk management services.
* Demonstrate relevant leadership behaviours aligned to Personal Leadership.
Qualifications
Applicants must provide evidence of a current unrestricted C Class Western Australian driver's licence, endorsement as a Level 1 Incident Controller or equivalent. Applications should include a maximum two‐page statement addressing essential criteria 3, 5 and 7 from the attached Job Description Form, a maximum five‐page current comprehensive CV, and an example of a recent planned burn prescription authored.
