Responsibilities
* Execute and support end-to-end payment transactions across NPP/Osko, BECS, BPAY, and HVCS/RTGS
* Handle internal stakeholders, partners and external clients' enquiries
* Monitor queues and acknowledgements to ensure settlement integrity and adherence to SLAs
* Investigate payment failures, recalls, and rejections; perform root‐cause analysis
* Perform daily reconciliations of clearing, settlement, nostro, and suspense accounts
* Ensure compliance with laws, rules and regulations
* Collaborate with key local and regional stakeholders
* Proactively engage in complex payment investigations and operational incidents
* Contribute to operational risk assessments, control reviews, and audit responses
* Support payment project initiatives
Skills
* Prior experience in banking operations, with a basic understanding of payment and receivable transaction processing
* Basic understanding of wholesale banking both domestic Australian schemes (NPP/Osko, BECS, BPAY, HVCS/RTGS) as well as international payments
* Understanding of SWIFT payment message formats, structures, and specifications (including MT and ISO 20022 MX), with the ability to interpret, validate, and investigate payment messages
* Strong working knowledge of Excel (formulas, data analysis, reconciliations), Outlook, and Teams for communication, reporting, and workflow management
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
* A continuous‐improvement mindset, with experience identifying process inefficiencies and driving automation and operational excellence initiatives
* Proactive in investigating and resolving complex problems
* Communicates clearly while actively listening to understand stakeholder needs and resolve issues effectively
* Works well in a small team, flexible in changing priorities, and willing to take on varied tasks
