Hispanic Mechanic, located at 205 Glen Osmond Road in Frewville, South Australia offers a unique fusion of Mexican, Latin American, and Korean cuisines. This innovative blend results in a diverse menu that caters to various tastes, featuring popular dishes like tacos, empanadas, and taquitos, all infused with Korean flavours. The restaurant is known for its vibrant atmosphere, accommodating both indoor and semi‑enclosed outdoor seating. It's an ideal spot for groups, with banquet menus available for larger parties. The establishment also offers a range of gluten‑free, vegetarian, and vegan options, ensuring inclusivity for all diners.

We are currently seeking a talented Full‑Time Chef to help elevate our vibrant and unique dining experience. Located in Frewville, SA, Hispanic Mechanic is renowned for its creative menu that blends traditional Mexican and Latin American dishes with a twist of Korean influence.


Qualifications & experience

1. Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Diploma of Hospitality Management.
2. At least 3 years of professional experience as a Chef.
3. Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and collaborate within a team.
4. Solid understanding of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Cook and prepare meals according to recipes and high‑quality standards, while maintaining consistency in flavour and presentation.
2. Designing creative and seasonal menus, incorporating fresh ingredients, and developing new dishes to keep the menu exciting.
3. Overseeing the day‑to‑day functioning of the kitchen, including maintaining cleanliness, organization, and ensuring a smooth flow of work.
4. Leading and mentoring kitchen staff, delegating tasks, ensuring everyone works efficiently, and maintaining a positive work environment.
5. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
6. Monitoring stock levels, placing orders for ingredients, and ensuring proper storage to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
7. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring tools and utensils are readily available.
8. Occasionally speaking with customers to gather feedback and ensure they are satisfied with their meals and dining experience.
9. Communicating with servers and management to coordinate timely service and resolve any customer concerns quickly.
