We are seeking a Talent Adviser to join our People & Culture (P&C) team. In this varied role, you will be responsible for executing our talent acquisition strategy, attracting and recruiting high calibre legal and business services professionals, and delivering an exceptional candidate experience. This role is key to engaging early careers talent, ensuring smooth integration into the firm, managing operational and administrative aspects of the employment lifecycle, and supporting broader P&C initiatives.
What you will do
* Manage the full recruitment cycle for legal and business services roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing and hiring
* Lead and coordinate recruitment for the law clerk program, and represent the firm at universities and law schools
* Provide ongoing support to the law clerk supervisor, including assistance with orientation, rotations, performance reviews and progression into graduate and lawyer roles
* Ensure a positive candidate experience through clear communication and professional support
* Build and maintain candidate pipelines through networking, events and digital platforms
* Oversee relationships with external recruitment agencies and manage preferred supplier agreements
* Manage and deliver comprehensive onboarding and induction programs, collaborating with business services teams to ensure seamless integration for new starters
* Facilitate offboarding processes, including exit interviews and compliance requirements
* Maintain accurate HR records and systems, prepare employment agreements and ensure compliance with policies and legal obligations
* Conduct pre-employment checks, including reference checks and police checks where required, and coordinate key processes such as probation reviews, internal transfers, promotions and exits
* Support the development and implementation of P&C policies and procedures, and assist with cyclical P&C activities and projects as required
* Actively contribute to the overall people experience by supporting learning and development initiatives and engagement programs, and providing assistance to the inclusion, diversity and equity (IDE), wellbeing and social inclusion committees
* Act as a point of contact for P&C queries, responding to team member emails and walk-ins, and fostering a culture of respect and inclusion.
What you will bring
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline
* 3–4 years' experience in a fast-paced legal or professional services environment, gained in either a recruitment agency or in-house recruitment role
* Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal and communication skills, with a client service mindset
* High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Experience using HCM and recruitment systems, and a proactive, problem-solving approach
