The opportunity
This role sits within the fast‐paced and innovative Emerging Technology team, supporting hands‐on development of prototypes, pilots and scalable software solutions across AI, machine learning, cloud, robotics and modern software engineering.
You will work in a team focused on experimentation, practical delivery and responsible innovation, helping turn promising ideas into technology that improves services and experiences across the University.
What you'll do
* Design, build and test software solutions across AI, ML, cloud and IoT.
* Write clean, scalable and secure code across modern development environments.
* Support prototypes, pilots and proof‐of‐concepts through testing and refinement.
* Integrate solutions with data pipelines, analytics tools and existing platforms.
* Collaborate with ICT teams to improve software quality, performance and delivery.
What we're looking for
* 3–5 years' experience developing end-to-end software solutions, ideally with emerging technologies (AI, ML, cloud).
* Exposure to cloud environments, CI/CD and agile development practices.
* Strong problem‐solving, debugging and prototyping capability.
* Curiosity, adaptability and a thoughtful approach to security, privacy and risk.
