The Devonport Adult Community Mental Health Service (DACMHS NW) is a case management service that provides expert mental health care including assertive case management, triage, holistic physical and mental health assessment, clinical risk management and crisis intervention within the community setting.
Role
As part of a multi‑disciplinary team delivering high‑quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will:
* Provide expert knowledge utilizing an advanced clinical framework in the management of consumers with complex mental health needs within the designated area of practice.
* Develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate relevant activities to improve patient outcomes within the multi‑disciplinary team.
* Participate as an active member of the Adult Community Mental team in delivering case management, carer education, consultation and collaboration with GPs and significant others in provision of care to a designated number of consumers.

Qualifications
* Extensive experience in and comprehensive knowledge of clinical nursing practice in a variety of settings, with at least five years of post‑graduate clinical nursing experience directly applicable to Mental Health settings.
* Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and awards, including the Mental Health Act, Right to Information Act, Work Health and Safety and other statutory requirements and departmental procedures and policies.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, and the proven ability to work constructively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team at both service and community levels.

Details of Appointment
* Permanent, full‑time position.
* Day worker; work 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
* Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary & Benefits
* $109,767 to $115,813 per annum (Pro rata). 12% superannuation contribution on top.
* Salary range aligns with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
* Post‑graduate allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
* Salary packaging available, including living expenses up to $9,010, meal entertainment $2,650, and other benefits if eligible.
* Travel and relocation assistance: up to $15,000 for overseas appointees, up to $10,000 for interstate.

Eligibility
* Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess a specialist tertiary graduate or post‑graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification.
* Current driver's licence.
* Desirably, extensive psychiatric nursing experience and/or credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse by the Australian and New Zealand College of Mental Health Nurses Inc. or equivalent.
