About the Role
Dock One Bar and Food is seeking a full-time, passionate, and experienced Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. We are looking for hospitality professionals who bring creativity, energy, and high standards to our menu and who are eager to grow with a busy, up-to-date venue. Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, design and prepare menus that reflect Dock One Bar and Food’s modern Australian and gastro‑pub dining style, focusing on fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients from WA suppliers.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating and quality control, ensuring consistency in flavour, technique, and presentation.
- Ensure all dishes meet high standards of taste, texture, portioning, and appearance, consistent with the venue’s culinary identity.
- Manage stock levels and inventory, including ordering ingredients, coordinating with local suppliers, maintaining cost controls, and minimising food wastage through efficient use of fresh produce.
- Lead, train, supervise and support kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and efficient workflow processes to maintain a smooth kitchen operation.
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS regulations, maintaining a safe and clean working environment at all times.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organisation across food preparation areas, cooking stations, storage, and equipment.

Qualifications & Experience Required
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma level qualifications are required.
- Minimum three years of experience in a similar chef or commercial kitchen role.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety standards, and ingredients.
