About the Role As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school's grounds and facilities to a high standard, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Reporting directly to the Principal, Business Manager, or their delegate, you will perform a variety of routine day-to-day tasks independently, while receiving supervision for non-routine duties.
You will not be required to perform tasks that would typically require a qualified tradesperson.
Key responsibilities include: Maintaining school grounds, including mowing, gardening, and general upkeep of outdoor areas and sporting facilities.
Performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks, such as furniture and equipment upkeep, and addressing minor facility issues.
Assisting with security duties, including locking and unlocking buildings and maintaining security systems.
Supporting school events by preparing spaces, moving furniture, and ensuring facilities are ready for use.
Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including safe storage and handling of materials and equipment maintenance.
About You The following traits would be beneficial: Experience in grounds and facilities maintenance or a similar role.
Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, particularly in handling tools and chemicals.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with staff, students, and external contractors.
A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with the ability to follow instructions and work independently.
