Commercial Electrician (Farm Maintenance Technician)
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Farm Maintenance Technician to join our operations team. This is a hands-on role supporting critical electrical and mechanical systems across multiple poultry production sites. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining reliability, safety, and performance of plant and equipment within our production environments.
Key Responsibilities
* establishing and maintain a preventive maintenance program (PMP) for all farm plant and equipment.
* Layer & Rearing Poultry House Systems (ventilation, feeders, water, egg collection, manure collection)
* Feed Mill
* Grading Floor
* Diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical faults on equipment and addressing issues promptly if a potential for animal welfare or food safety to be compromised.
* liaising with contractors and suppliers as needed and sourcing parts as required.
* Completing step by step breakdown/issue maintenance reports in the company software and close out active tasks in an urgent manner.
* Travel and work across multiple operational sites as required
* being on call for urgent breakdowns.
* assisting with new installations and equipment upgrades.
* ensuring the site is presentable and secure.
* maintaining tools, spare parts and equipment in an orderly manner.
* to learn roles throughout the organisation to better provide assistance.
* shed set up and preparations for incoming flocks.
* ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and skills:
* A-Grade Electrician (VIC recognised)
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* A proactive, results-driven approach
* The ability to work independently and make sound decisions
* Confidence to escalate issues and collaborate with the wider team when required
* A practical, hands-on attitude with excellent attention to detail
* Truck license (HR) (Preferred)
* Forklift license (LF)

The salary range for this position is $100K per year.
