We're working with a large public-sector organization delivering a major Human Capital Management (HCM) and payroll transformation project. They're seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead the testing workstream for the implementation of a modern HCM and payroll solution, ensuring full coverage, defect management, and quality delivery across the program.
About the Role
* Lead the development of the Test Strategy and Test Plan, including scope, environments, and governance
* Manage end-to-end testing for HCM/Payroll systems, covering Workday HCM, Aurion Payroll, integrations, and certified agreements
* Oversee test execution across System Integration, Regression, UAT, and Parallel Payroll testing
* Manage defect lifecycle, triage issues, and coordinate resolution with stakeholders and vendors
* Maintain requirements traceability and deliver executive-level test progress reporting
* Support cutover and dress rehearsal activities
What We're Looking For
* Extensive experience testing Workday HCM and Aurion Payroll systems
* Deep understanding of payroll solutions, Australian EBAs, awards, penalties, allowances, and statutory obligations
* Expertise in test planning, execution, and defect management
* Strong communication skills with experience producing management-level dashboards and reports
* Ability to manage complex projects and engage with business stakeholders, SMEs, and technical teams
* Tertiary qualifications in IT, HR, Business, or related discipline
* Agile/Scrum and ISTQB Test Manager certifications
* Experience in local government payroll environments
