Chef | Full-time opportunity
An exciting opportunity for a Chef to join our Mental Health Unit kitchen
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious and appetising meals for patients, staff, functions, and visitors of the hospital. You will ensure food quality and maintain hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with all aspects of the Food Safety Standards Australia and New Zealand.
Flexibility is required to work across a rotating roster which may involve weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.
The duties include but are not limited to:
Ensuring all meals are presented in appropriate proportion, at the correct temperature, and according to the Joondalup Health Campus Food Safety Program and State Nutritional Guidelines.
Ensuring compliance with all aspects of the Food Safety Standards Australia New Zealand.
Meeting the dietary needs of all customers, with ingredients accurately measured to meet specific dietary requirements.
Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
Assisting in the ordering of all food stock, ingredients, supplies, and equipment as requested.
To be successful, you will demonstrate the following:
Trade certificate or equivalent in commercial cookery.
Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience.
Responsiveness and sensitivity to customer needs and wants.
Knowledge of food safety/HACCP principles and infection control.
Ability to work as part of a team, with or without supervision.
Ability to use computer-based menu, allergen, and meal ordering systems (training provided).
Good time management and organisational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritise workload.
Willingness to undertake PART training.

Requirements
Must provide a recent National Police Check (within 12 months).
