**Role Description/Criteria**

Santa Maria College is a Catholic Girls' Secondary School enriched with the tradition of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan catering for over 800 students from Year 7-12. Santa Maria College promotes the safety, wellbeing, protection and inclusion of all children and young people.

**About the Role**:
In this position of leadership we are looking for someone who can;
- support and promote the Catholic ethos of the College.
- publicly support the Leadership and leadership decisions of the College.

**Pedagogical Leadership**:

- Assume the role as the VCE and VM Coordinator for the College
- Mentor teachers and model good practice in the classrooms
- Lead professional development sessions for learning areas that are reflective of a cohesive and integrated program
- Oversee curriculum review and facilitating curriculum development across Y11-Y12
- Support teachers in the development of assessment tools in line with the school's assessment policy
- Ensure that the handbooks are developed/reviewed and released each year
- Develop and use assessment results to lead curriculum review and development and ensure that these results are used, where appropriate, in reflection upon teaching practice
- Support and advise teaching staff and new staff regarding the administration of the VCE and VCE VM
- Facilitate collaborative planning and moderation
- In conjunction with the Deputy Principal-Operations, oversee the planning for and implementation of all VCE exams, trial exams for Unit 3 and 4 and the GAT
- Actively support digital enhancement to support learning within the learning areas
- Plan for and implement differentiation within the learning areas, supporting teachers within the classroom
- Assist in the NCCD Process
- Work with the Leader of Data and Learning Analytics to use data on students to inform strategies, programs and practices within the faculty to support student learning

**Senior Learning**:

- Forward current assessment and reporting practices to staff as required and respond to all communication from the VCAA
- Be in communication with VCAA as required to resolve questions
- Direct VCE Subject specific information (e.g.: changes in Study designs etc.) to the appropriate teaching staff and the Leaders of Collaboration
- Oversee all aspects of student administration and enrolment as required by the VCAA
- Direct the VASS Administrator's duties
- Consistently review and update VCE policy and procedures as required
- Work with the Director of Learning Enhancement and Support and/or Head of Y11/Y12 Village and/or Y11 or Y12 Learning and Growth Leader on students eligible for special exam conditions and ensure these are applied by staff for all SAC's and Trial exams
- Oversee EAL enrolments
- Organise paperwork for schools, VCAA and staff regarding partnerships that need to be established for Unit 3 & 4 sequences
- Monitor students who study a unit outside the College and ensure assessment and enrolment requirements are met. This includes Language studies, Distance Education enrolments
- Distribute the relevant timelines and dates, including VCE assessment and GAT Information, to staff and students in a timely manner
- Brief students completing a Unit 3 & 4 sequence on the requirements of the GAT/Examinations in conjunction with Deputy Principal - Learning and Teaching
- Oversee the VCE Authentication panel and complete any paperwork required
- Oversee the SAC Redemption process working with the Head of Y11/Y12 Village, Y11 and Y12 Learning and Growth Leader

**Professional Development**:

- Chair regular team meetings at Y11-Y12 across the school
- Deliver and develop senior learning information workshops for all staff
- Identify professional development needs and opportunities on and off campus
- Provide orientation sessions for all new staff, as necessary
- Assess the professional development needs of teachers and coordinate their participation in appropriate workshops
- Run regular "pop up" PL for staff on senior learning
