The role of a Senior Lawyer at our organisation involves representing workers in the retail, fast-food and warehousing sector. Our Legal Team is committed to delivering exceptional outcomes for our members, ensuring they are represented and protected in the workplace through to tribunals and courts.
Key Responsibilities
* As a skilled lawyer with expertise in employment, industrial relations and workers compensation law, you will work on a range of disputes for our members, appearing routinely in Court and Tribunal hearings.
* This position requires the ability to independently manage a file load of workers compensation advice and dispute matters under supervision.
Requirements
* High-level interpersonal and communication skills;
* Well-developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills;
* Time management & organisational skills with ability to multi-task;
* Advocacy experience in negotiations and tribunals preferred;
* Ability to work as a member of a team, including flexibility to take on other duties and responsibilities;
* A commitment to the values of trade unionism.
Experience and Qualifications
* Minimum 3-5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in employment or industrial relations law;
* Admitted as a practitioner in the Supreme Court of South Australia, or immediately eligible for Admission;
* Current unrestricted practising certificate in South Australia required;
