The role of a Learning and Development Manager is a pivotal one in any healthcare organization. In this capacity, you will be responsible for identifying education and training needs that align with the organization's Clinical Services Plan, the National Safety and Quality Health Services (NSQHS) Standards, and the organization's National Education and Training Framework.
This role requires a strong understanding of nursing best practices, as well as the ability to maintain current knowledge of these practices. You will work closely with the Director of Clinical Services to identify specific learning requirements for each department through an annual education needs analysis.
As a Learning and Development Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
* Developing and implementing evidence-based educational activities that meet the requirements of the organization's quality initiatives
* Coordinating training and education to facilitate staff compliance with mandatory training requirements
* Maintaining current knowledge of nursing and healthcare best practices
* Participating in the development of the education team to meet budget targets
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have a number of key skills and qualifications. These include:
* A minimum Certificate 3 in Training and Assessment
* Registration with AHPRA and possession of a current practising certificate
* Experience in leadership roles
* Commitment to continue professional development
* Demonstrated knowledge of current nursing issues and practices pertaining to the position
* Good computer literacy and ability to run reports
