What's the role?
An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Test Automation Lead to join the WIB Technology – GTS & Payments. This role is responsible to shape and execute the automation strategy across high‑quality, high‑throughout transactional systems. This role suits an engineer with strong hands-on automation skills in Java, who can lead frameworks, embed testing in CI/CD, and uplift quality practices across API, UI and integration layers.
You will join a focused, high-performing team at the core of quality engineering—building scalable, reliable automation that enables frequent and confident software delivery.
Key Accountabilities:
* Lead the test automation strategy, standards, and governance for payments and transactional platforms
* Design, build, and maintain Java-based automation frameworks for API and UI
* Implement BDD practices with Cucumber; drive living documentation and test clarity
* Own API automation using RestAssured; integrate service tests into pipelines
* Integrate automation into CI/CD (primarily Jenkins) and version control (Git)
* Define quality metrics and reporting; communicate risks, coverage, and readiness clearly to all stakeholders
* Mentor engineers; champion shift-left testing, test data management, and robust environments
* Collaborate closely with engineers, product, and delivery to continuously improve flow and quality
What do I need?
* Extensive hands-on experience in Java-based test automation.
* Proficient in user interface automation utilizing Selenium.
* Practical experience with Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber.
* Skilled in API test automation leveraging RestAssured.
* Experienced in CI/CD integration using Jenkins and version control with Git.
* Domain expertise in payment /financial transaction systems.
* Possesses ISTQB certification (a mandatory requirement).
* Excellent verbal and written communication—able to articulate strategy, risks, and defects to technical and non‑technical audiences
Nice to have
* Experience with Playwright; TestNG/JUnit; SQL for verification and data setup
* Familiarity with Postman/OpenAPI; reporting with Extent Reports/Power BI
* Exposure to GitLab CI or GitHub Actions
* Use of AI in testing, developing AI test solutions in python, Testing of indeterministic AI applications.
* Test management with Jira/Xray
* Knowledge of other BDD frameworks (SpecFlow/Behave) or languages (Python/C#) where relevant.
