About The Role

As Senior Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing a large and varied ledger, proactively overseeing collections activity and resolving complex or escalated matters. You will work closely with Partners and their teams, balancing firm but professional collections with the need to maintain strong, ongoing client relationships.

Operating in a fast-paced professional services environment, this role requires strong judgement, resilience and the ability to adapt quickly as priorities shift in response to Partner and business needs.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include Credit Management
* Assessing and approving new credit requests, including conducting credit checks and risk assessments
* Onboarding new clients and maintaining existing client accounts
* Implementing and adhering to internal credit policies and procedures
* Ensuring client data is accurately maintained within the Firm's systems
* Providing guidance and support on credit matters to internal stakeholders
Collections
* Managing a substantial debtor ledger, proactively following up overdue invoices to ensure healthy cashflow
* Leading collections activity on more complex or sensitive accounts
* Communicating with clients in a professional, relationship-focused manner
* Identifying and managing credit risk while minimising bad debt exposure
* Working closely with billing and AR teams to resolve invoicing or billing queries
Reporting & Analysis
* Preparing and reviewing aged debtor ledgers and outstanding balance reports
* Identifying emerging debtor issues and escalating risks where appropriate
* Providing insights to support cashflow management and decision-making
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
* Building strong working relationships with Partners, practice groups and external clients
* Acting as a key point of contact for escalated account and payment queries
* Facilitating regular discussions with Partners to review debtor positions and agree next steps
* Balancing commercial outcomes with long-term client relationships
About You

You are an experienced Credit Controller, ideally from a professional services environment, with strong end-to-end collections experience and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring
* Proven experience managing complex or high-value debtor portfolios
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* A professional, resilient approach to collections
* Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills in a fast-paced environment
* Sound judgement and attention to detail
* A good working knowledge of Excel
* Experience using practice management systems (experience with Aderant will be highly regarded)
* A positive, collaborative mindset and willingness to support team objectives
