Overview
A leading national construction group is expanding its Tasmanian operations and is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver major commercial projects across the state. With a strong pipeline of work, including sports facilities, airports, industrial warehouses and broader infrastructure. This role suits a Project Manager (or an experienced Site Manager / CA) experienced in delivering complex commercial projects for Tier 1 / 2 builders.
This is a full-time, permanent role with long-term career opportunity for Tasmanian locals or Australians looking to relocate. Relocation support is available for interstate applicants with full working rights.
Responsibilities
* Managing full project lifecycle of concurrent projects.
* Collaborating with engineers, architects and consultants to determine project specifications.
* Negotiating with vendors and subcontractors to secure commercially sound agreements.
* Ensuring all permits, licences and regulatory approvals are obtained.
* Determining resourcing needs (people, plant, materials) within budget constraints.
* Planning all construction operations and managing key project phases.
* Leading contractors, site teams and project personnel.
* Monitoring progress, producing detailed reports and maintaining quality standards.
* Ensuring compliance with safety standards, legislation and contract obligations.
* Managing project risks, opportunities and financial performance.
Requirements
* Proven experience delivering commercial construction projects (Tier 1 / 2 ideal)
* Relevant tertiary qualifications (Buliders Licence)
* Knowledge of Tasmanian construction legislation and Codes of Practice is preferred but not essential
* Exceptional communication and relationship skills
* Strong analytical, problem solving and planning capability
* Ability to lead teams and operate autonomously when needed
