About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Botanist / Ecologist to join our team. As a key member of our ecological services group, you will be responsible for conducting field-based ecology surveys and leading ecological projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct baseline surveys, monitoring programs, and targeted flora and weed assessments across various bioregions.
* Lead and manage ecological projects, supporting internal clients with multi-disciplinary tenders and deliverables.
* Plan, deliver, and analyze ecology surveys independently or collaboratively, performing impact assessments and designing mitigation strategies.
* Assist in managing the technical performance and delivery of ecological projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Requirements
* An undergraduate degree in environmental science, ecology, botany or similar is required.
* Excellent field skills with 5+ years experience conducting and leading botanical surveys in various WA environments, including mining, remote, and Perth Metro areas.
* Strong technical reporting skills proficiency in GIS desktop and data collection packages (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS and Fieldmaps).
* A WA driving licence and ability to work outdoors on short and extended field programs is necessary.
* Working knowledge of Commonwealth and State environmental legislation (EPA technical guides, BC Act) is essential.
