The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the workshop, leading a team of skilled tradespeople and apprentices, and allocating work accordingly to meet project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a team of tradespeople and apprentices, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
* Promote safety behaviors and maintain accurate reporting processes.
* Provide guidance and support to the team as needed to minimize delays and enhance decision-making.
* Implement effective work order management systems to meet productivity targets and quality standards.
* Nurture positive relationships with external vendors.
* Oversee roster management and approve timesheets.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to optimize processes, drive efficiency, and enhance business operations.
Requirements:
* Experience in mobile plant maintenance in an agricultural, civil, or mining setting.
* Previous supervisory experience.
* Advanced organizational skills, enabling prioritization of fluctuating workloads and efficient delegation.
* Ability to manage pressure from deadlines and conflicting priorities.
* Effective management of internal and external stakeholder needs.
* Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal abilities.
* Able to work effectively within a team and individually, fostering positive working relationships.
