**The Opportunity**:
As the appointed Operations & Maintenance provider, Veolia ANZ is looking for talented Operations Technicians to join one of Australia's first Waste to Energy facilities in the heart of the Kwinana 6167 Industrial Strip. Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, the Operations Technician will be responsible for assisting in the safe operation of two high pressure steam boilers processing 460,000 tonnes of municipal waste per annum to supply a steam turbine generator capable of generating 36 Megawatts of baseload power to the grid.

**What you'll be responsible for**:
- Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, the Operations Technician will be responsible for assisting in the safe operation of a complex high pressure steam boiler processing 460,000 tonnes of municipal waste per annum to supply a steam turbine generator capable of generating 36 Megawatts of baseload power to the grid.
- Operational support of the plant during steady state, start up, shutdown and emergency situations as directed by the STL from a Central Control Room.
- Complete plant checks and routines and assist with the completion of maintenance routines & schedules as required.
- Provide feedback on operational activities and plant conditions to the STL.
- Assist in ensuring day to day compliance with the Environmental Permit, reporting any non-compliance or incidents to the Shift Team Leader.
- Assist with the completion of maintenance routines & schedules as required.
- Investigate & troubleshoot breakdowns in the field and provide detailed defect reports.
- Provide technical supervision and assistance where necessary for Company and contract staff engaged in work at the KWtE facility
- Carry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by management
**What you'll need to be successful**:
- Broad experience gained through shift working in a continuous process industry, preferably in a Power Station environment
- High Risk Licence - Operate an Advanced Boiler (desirable)
- High Risk Licence - Operate a Steam Turbine (desirable)
- Demonstrable experience in Permit to Work processes
- Mechanical or Electrical trade qualifications (desirable)
- A self starter, able to prioritise tasks and work with mínimal supervision
