About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Training Officer to join their Port Operations Division for a 6‐month assignment. Reporting to the Manager Operations Development, this role plays a key part in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and capability of the operational workforce. You will be responsible for delivering both accredited and non‐accredited training programs, developing contemporary competency packages, and supporting the organisation's broader workforce development strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver training and competency programs that meet organisational and operational needs.
* Provide accredited and non‐accredited training to the operational workforce.
* Liaise with external training providers to maintain accreditation linkages and ensure best‐practice training delivery.
* Assist in the development of modern operational training programs aligned with strategic goals and workforce planning.
* Coordinate and support the implementation of training and development activities across the division.
* Maintain and assure the integrity of the Skills & Competency Matrix.
* Ensure training data, statistics, and completion records are accurate and up to date.
Skills & Experience
* Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (current).
* Ability to conduct Verification of Competencies (VOCs).
* Strong understanding of operational training delivery.
* Knowledge of contemporary training and development methodologies.
* Proven ability to produce professional training packages and written reports.
* Well‐developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong planning and organisational capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Developed computer literacy and confidence working with training systems and data.
