Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the Pakenham site and production team through a range of production activities including customer service, administrative, quality, safety, and data entry tasks. This role contributes to the safe, effective, and compliant operation of the facility, while upholding Ridley’s commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Administration
- Manage customer and internal calls, order entries, support weighbridge processing as required, and credit adjustments.
- Accurately record production data, downtime, and trends for analysis and efficiency improvements.
- Maintain stocktake required with the Production Team.
- Maintain administrative records via SharePoint and review daily KPI dashboards.
- Provide backup to the site scheduler and assist in document creation (e.g., SOPs).
- Oversee CHEP transactions and assist with internal audits (LinkSafe, ChemAlert, Guardian, etc.).
- Work closely with the Sales and Inventory Team Leader
- Support to the Warehouse team administration team
People
- Participate in performance reviews, development planning, and training activities.
- Assist the Production Manager with SOP refresher training for operators.
- Attend and engage in team meetings and cross-functional collaboration.
Safety
- Actively comply with OHS/WHS legislation and Ridley’s health and safety policies.
- Identify and report hazards, near misses, incidents, and unsafe practices.
- Demonstrate responsibility for creating a safe and respectful workplace.
- Support FeedTrack logs and action completion processes.
Quality
- Work closely with the Ingredient, Warehouse and QA role.
- Support QA inspections, product checks, and batch verification on the production floor.
- Support sample collection, retention, documentation, and laboratory submissions.
- Support QA documentation, test results, and work instructions via SharePoint and G: Drive.
- Support reconciliations and ensure compliance with S4 medication handling.
- Support the maintenance of HACCP, FeedSafe, and other quality certifications.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an administrative or cross-functional role, preferably in a production or QA workplace
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong data entry and document control skills
- Sound knowledge of QA standards, HACCP, GMP, and FeedSafe practices
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
- Current HACCP certification
- Familiarity with feed manufacturing processes and QA requirements
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Desirable
- Advanced knowledge of feed manufacturing processes
- Experience creating SOPs and supporting document control systems
- Familiarity with FMCG industry QA and administrative functions
- Advanced skills in Excel and SharePoint
