About the role:
We currently have a vacancy for a Mechanical Project Engineer that will be responsible for managing a capital project to implement safety improvements for various items of manufacturing plant, equipment and services.
This role will work as part of the site team delivering mechanical capital projects for the business, in line with the Bell Bay forward operating strategy. This role will successfully execute allocated capital projects to the parameters of the business case by and manage detailed engineering design, equipment selection, detailed planning and execution through vendors and contractors to achieve the project elements on time, on budget and to the equipment design capacity plan.
The successful candidate will provide project engineering capability on site and be measured in terms of its ability to support capital applications based on world best practice for timber processing. In addition to this, the position will implement continuous improvements that contribute towards a world class capability in people, processes and plant.
This permanent, full time position reports directly to the Engineering Manager and will be based at our Bell Bay manufacturing facility in Tasmania (approx. 40 minutes from Launceston). Your responsibilities will include:
* Develop and review mechanical designs
* Prepare work scopes and procurement documents
* Preparation of capital submissions
* Contract management, control of budget and schedule
* Development and management of safety management plan specific to projects
* Undertake in conjunction with specialists / contractor's design and constructability reviews
* Development of installation plans and associated execution documentation
Qualifications and Qualities you will bring to Timberlink:
* Mechanical Engineering Qualification
* Analytical and interpretation skills
* CAD Drafting experience highly regarded
* Minimum 5+ years Mechanical Engineering/Project Management experience
