Lower Valley Machine Dry Hire (LVMD) is a family‑owned and operated business supplying quality machinery and forestry attachments across to our growing region. We’re also proud authorised dealers for FAE. About the Role
This role sits at the heart of our operations. You’ll be supporting daily coordination of hire bookings, logistics, and communication with customers and drivers. It’s a dynamic position where organisation, communication and initiative are key.
While previous hire or construction industry experience is welcome, it’s not essential - we’ll provide full training for the right person. What matters most is attitude, reliability and the willingness to learn. If you’ve worked in a busy retail environment, on a farm, or in a customer‑facing role and thrive in fast‑paced days, this could be your next step.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate machinery hire bookings, allocations and logistics
- Communicate confidently with customers and drivers
- Assist with scheduling, follow‑ups and task tracking
- Support internal operations and general administration
- Liaise with team members to resolve issues proactively
- Use Microsoft Office and internal systems for coordination
About You
- Enjoys people‑facing, quick‑moving work environments
- Confident on the phone and able to communicate clearly
- Naturally organised, with strong attention to detail
- A problem‑solver who keeps things moving
- Tech‑savvy and confident using Microsoft Office and Excel
- Professional, adaptable and eager to learn
Preferred (but not essential)
- Experience in machinery hire, construction, transport or logistics
- Familiarity with scheduling or coordination roles
- Forklift licence or understanding of Chain of Responsibility laws
