About the Role
The Project Officer is a pivotal position within our organization, responsible for delivering various community infrastructure projects.
As a key team member, you will play a crucial role in planning, procuring, and executing project delivery to achieve balanced outcomes on behalf of the organisation and Ballarat community.
You will report directly to the Manager Project Delivery and be accountable for the delivery of community infrastructure within the Major Projects business unit, in the Infrastructure and Environment division.
To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate your ability to plan and prioritize projects within a set timeframe and work collaboratively with stakeholders and contractors to deliver desired outcomes.
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or extensive experience in the construction industry in a project management or contract supervisory role.
* Experience in architectural design, construction, or refurbishment of community infrastructure as a project manager or site supervisor/foreperson.
* Recent experience liaising and managing contractors, particularly with regard to quality assurance.
* Experience interpreting drawings and plans.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
* Well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to the position.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Project Officer with prior Project Management experience either in the delivery of community infrastructure for Local Government, or in the building construction industry in a design or site construction supervisory role.
