Supporting Students with Special Needs
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to make a positive difference in the lives of students with additional needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support students with a variety of special educational needs
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential
* Assist with the development and implementation of individual learning plans (ILPs) for students with SEN
* Support students with physical, emotional, and behavioural needs in the classroom and during extracurricular activities
* Help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported
* Encourage students to develop their social skills, independence, and confidence
* Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs
Requirements:
* A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs
* Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school environment
* Patient, empathetic, and understanding of the challenges faced by students with additional needs
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
* Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
* Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience
